Rolled today. Just squeaked past 100 both games, thanks as usual to the excellent condition of the alleys at Deerfield, not to mention my general lack of ability. Valk, after a rocky start of 98 on his first game rolled a fantastic 195, for a pb. Beh brought Emily along, again. Tonight was the night to find out if she liked bowling and Monty Python, so we rolled (she has her own shoes but didn't have time to get them), and then we watched Holy Grail in the hot tub. She laughed. So, naturally B was in heaven. Apparently the two of them are an item as of during/after the movie, so props to him. In the meantime, I'm now the only lone wolf among the regulars here at Chez Farnham, so I may have to step things up a notch to pick up the slack. Right. Kind of in that department, I've been invited to play the fourth to Matt and Emily's third wheel, Michelle, when they go clubbing this coming Friday, so I may take them up on it.

So, this plan for self-enrichment described earlier really isn't working all that well. Me and my stupid socializing. I think I'm going to change it to doing at least one of those three things, rather than all of them.

In other news, the RAM I ordered isn't compatible with my motherboard. Bugger. Still trying to figure out just what to do with it now.

Gave blood again today.

Excerpt from my grandfather's memoirs:
... In those days little boys wore dresses and played with dolls until they were three or four. No doubt they had some difficulty determining whether I was a boy or a girl. I would deny all of this if it weren't for the fact that there are pictures of me carrying a doll and wearing dresses in old family photo albums. Perhaps my feelings on the subject can be best explained by noting that one of the highlights of my early years was when Scott brought me home a pair of real boys' overalls for me to wear. No more dresses for me. And it would be many years before my interest in dolls, real live ones that is, would return.

So, I'm trying this new thing that I hope I can stick with, even once next semester starts. Every day, at some point, going to post to the blog at least once, read something for the heck of it for at least half an hour, and write for at least fifteen minutes. Once I write something, day one will have gone quite well.

Laid out for about an hour this afternoon. Doubt it did much good. Guess we'll see.

Had my first game of ultimate in nearly a year today. It was great fun. Considering the crew got thrown together only starting Wednesday when Behrensmeyer saw Eaton on a run, we had a good turnout. Beh's new lady-friend came, and she laid out for the disc. Because of this, we hope to soon get her over to Deerfield and then have her watch Holy Grail. She may be just too good to be true, as far as Matt's concerned. At any rate, it looks like we're going to try to get back into a regular routine of some disc action since today went so well. I'm glad to hear it, because I've missed the game. Speaking of, if there are any folks at Hillsdale that want to get some games going in places larger than the quad with, oh, sixteen people or less, let me know.

Tonight we had what may or may not have been a record number of people in the hot tub at once: Nine. The ratios were pretty good, too. 4 guys, 5 girls. There were other folks around that didn't join us for the tub-and-a-movie. On the whole, probably the most successful get-together Chez Farnham has seen in quite a while. Everyone seemed to have a good time, and very few people found other things to do. Props to Behrensmeyer for the new lady-friend, Emily. May we all stumble upon a purse someday.

Disc Sunday at 3 at the HS.

Check out Pro Stunnaz. Got the link from Wiggaz.com. It's no Mullets Galore, but it's still funny.

So, I don't exactly know how I forgot to post this earlier, but two nights ago Beh and I saw the most amazing shooting star ever. This thing really went beyond the limits of shooting-star-itude and was dabbling in the realm of just being a meteor. It was huge and bright, and had a big ol' smoke trail behind it. It was in the sky probably at least four seconds, flying south-southwest a bit north of my house. Not sure exactly how long it lasted, but it was enough for Matt to say, "Hey, dude? Is that a shooting star?" "Yes, yes it is. Wow. That's huge," and other such things. Absolutely fantastic.

Last night I had my first drive-in experience since I saw Benji The Hunted when I was about five. Apparently there's been one open up in Mansfield all this time. Last night's double-feature was Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines followed by Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle. As mentioned before, T3 was fun. So was Angels, but it totally pushed the boundaries of how much disbelief I was willing to willfully suspend. Kind of cute and fun nonetheless. Also, correct me if I'm wrong but was there always that much not-so-latent lesbianism among the Angels, or is that a new thing? Anyhow, took the Bimmer up there with a few of the girls (Ish, Jessie and Darby), and Scotty O., whom I hadn't seen in a while, so that was a decent time. As always, E. Smith and Lara ditched out.

Folks left for New England today, off to visit dad's brother and a few friends, and they'll be back next Thursday.

The rear strut rods were replaced in my Accord today, and it's like a whole new vehicle. Things that I didn't realize were wrong before are now better. It handles better, it's more quiet all-around, and the ride is smoother, too. So glad.

If any of you reading this are from the Mount Vernon area (which none of you are), come on by tomorrow (Saturday the 19th) night for some food and some hot tubbing and probably a movie as usual.

Random drivel:
iPod is finally up and running, thanks to Coughlin's suggestion that I use EphPod rather than MusicMatch. It's positively fantastic.

Prizio has moved me up to "Business as usual." Huzzah.

Does anybody know of a good XP webcam program? The one that shipped with my old camera won't work with the new OS.

The front passenger door/window of my Honda are finally fixed, and the front brakes are replaced. New tires tomorrow, new rear strut rods Friday, an alignment Monday and I'm set.
