Well, here I've been home for a day now, and I'm on my way out again in about eight hours. Short and sweet seems to be the name of the game for trips home this semester. I spent the day running all kinds of errands and trying to take care of business downtown today. I renewed my driver's license so I'd be legal when I get back from Spain, and my pic looks like a happy-go-lucky terrorist. You have to love the wild hair. After that I went to just about every restaurant, fast food joint and grocery store in town to pick up applications this summer. It's a bugger having to schlepp around like a regular... schlepp, rather than just having my usual job available. Despite all the apps I picked up, though (nearly twenty), I only filled out three, put in my name with my old boss in case she had any other positions available, and wrote a letter to another place I might find a similar job. Hopefully I'll be waitng tables at Jake's but we'll see if that goes through. There's still also the remote possibility that I could take Valk's job at the hospital, but that's far from likely. Regardless of what happens, though, I still have a job running lights for the Ogg-a-thon dance recital down at the Memorial Theatre right when I get back from Spain, which is 300 bucks for a week of long but easy work. I also may end up just leaving resumes at the factories around here if none of the other jobs come through once I'm back. I guess we'll see.

This may be the last blog entry for a while, depending on my ability to access stuff in Spain. I'll keep it as updated as possible, but I don't know what that means.
Valete, amici.

I would like to take this moment to say that "Sympathy for the Devil" by the Rolling Stones is a fabulous piece of work.

I spent most of the afternoon outside, and though I haven't seen a mirror I'm guessing my face is about as red as a cherry, as it always is after being out in the sun. Today's sun-time, however, had the advantage over others in that I got to spend it with Nik, who, despite what she believes, always looks super-hot when she's laying out.

My typhus is fading, but not gone. Thought about going to the "Health" Center today, but instead decided it would be better to lay around outside, and to wait it out. Or smoke it out, as Silliman suggested.

Today, I took my exam for Physics of Sound. Usually, one might think this a mundane activity (which it is), but this was different. Not only am I the only student in the class (the other kid is auditing) and it's still not an independent study, but Dr. Lucas emailed me yesterday saying he'd be out of town, and just left my exam outside of his office for me. Apparently Hillsdale profs really believe in the Honor Code.

If you haven't read Hugger's blog yet, you should give it a look. He's an interesting guy, and if you know him as poorly as I do, you might find some of the stuff he has to say to be a bit of a surprise.

I realize it's been a few days since I graced your blogging experience with my presence, though I did hit up the BeatBlog the other day. I've been pretty busy studying and writing papers and whatnot. Today, however, I am as sick as a dog. I totally soiled a perfectly good handkerchief all during my Latin exam, and I slept for half the afternoon. My head has been replaced with a leaky spigot being hammered by gnomes. I think Seraphim gave me whatever form of plague he had last week. Finals week isn't exactly the best time to come down with typhus, but at least it isn't next week, I guess. Hopefully it doesn't last long and is gone ideally by tomorrow, hopefully by Thursday, and I'm going to be mad if it's not gone by next monday. At any rate, my head and I are now going to do some physics.
